Norwood Citizens on Patrol

Today we pause to remember those who didn’t make it back home. Freedom is not free. We will continue to honor their sacrifice and offer a prayer to their loved ones.

It is with great sadness that we relay the news of the passing of COP team member Denny Wagner. Denny was an original member of the Norwood Citizens on Patrol team. He was as devoted as ever to the COP program and to the City of Norwood. He attended every single COP event and was always willing to help out. Just this past year he was honored as the COP team member of 2019. A loving husband, father and good friend to so many. If you did not know Denny personally, you probably knew him from walking all over the City of Norwood with his dog on a daily basis. Please keep his loving wife Helen, along with his other family and friends in your prayers.

Thank you Denny for your years of service and dedication to the Norwood Citizens on Patrol team.

Norwood Citizen's on Patrol are holding their monthly meeting tonight, 7:00 pm at the NPD Substation in the Community Center. We would love to have you join us. We are talking about expanded patrols, including possible weekend patrols and bike patrols on Wasson Way this spring and summer. Stop up and check us out.

The Norwood Citizens on Patrol held their annual end of the year Christmas meeting last week with a great dinner. After dinner the Bill Graff Memorial Award for the team member of the year was presented to Dennis Wagner. Denny is an original member of the Citizens on Patrol and very valuable to the mission. Congratulations Denny.

The Citizen's on Patrol held their Christmas meeting this week. We discussed our year and all we accomplished. We shared some food and stories. We also named our member of the year, who receives the Bill Graff Memorial Award. Congratulations to Bruce Hobbs for receiving this honor. Bruce joined us in late 2017 and has had an amazing impact in just one year.

What a great day on Saturday at Norwood Christmas Town. We were able to give away so many stuffed animals to children along with cookies and coffee. Thank you to all who stopped by our booth and made a donation. All of those dollars added up and will greatly help our program. We hope everyone loves there stuffed animals. Special thank you to Pet Smart for their generous donation to the Norwood Police Department.

We had a great day Saturday morning collecting food and personal hygiene items for the Zion UCC Food Pantry. Thank you for everyone who helped out .
