Established in 2019. Built as a birthday surprise, this LFL was an effort of love and collaboration. We hope you will come check it out!

Family members from several states participated in the construction, decoration, and induction of the library.

Hello Clansons LFL friends and family!

Due to weather, we have temporarily closed the library.

We’d like to take a moment to talk about a wee situation we are wrestling with.

Several times now, the library has been alleviated of most, if not all, of its books in one fell swoop. The last time was just before Christmas. At that time we thought, “times are hard, someone must have needed them, no big deal.”

Long story short, today a gentleman stopped by and, after scanning every book we had with his phone, was going to leave with the vast majority of them. This was even after he’d had a long, pleasant (albeit very rainy) conversation with us.

We know times are hard and reselling books is a way folks can make a few dollars. We are struggling with our internal pact of “nothing goes in we are not happy to share,” the idea of the LFL being for the community, and our compassion for those in need with the actuality of the situation - that it can be difficult to maintain our library if our supply continues to be depleted in this fashion.

To that end, we can only ask those who do visit not only our, but ALL Little Free Libraries, remember they are for all members of the community to share in and enjoy.

Thank you!

Hi Friends!

2024 was one heck of a year and the holiday season came upon us much more quickly than we had imagined it could. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get our line in to the North Pole set up in time and thus we could not help Santa with his letters this year.

Though the Kindness Rock Garden is currently empty, we have a bunch of new rocks painted by family in Oregon waiting to be sealed and put out for your taking and sharing!

The Library is still going strong. We are so thankful for our neighbors and community for sustaining the rotation of books. We love seeing people stop by and peruse the latest drops.

Thank you for everything and we hope you will stop by and check us out soon!

❤️

"The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."
- Gloria Steinem

With well over a century of history and change, the first International Women's Day (IWD) was held in March 1911. IWD isn't country, group or organization specific. It's a day of collective global activism and celebration that belongs to all those committed to forging women's equality.

Happy International Women's Day!

Oops! We just found out our Kindness Rock Garden is out of rocks! Looks like we have some painting to do this weekend. It takes us a litttle bit of time because we are not speedy artists (or artists at all, really). That said, we had some great books dropped off this week, come by and check them out!

Do you know the history of Juneteenth, also referred to as Freedom Day, Emancipation Day, or Jubilee Day?

On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Lincoln emancipated enslaved Africans in America, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas with news of freedom. By executive decree, nearly 250,000 enslaved people in Texas were freed.

This holiday honors the true end of slavery in the United States and is celebrated with cultural pride and unity, honoring African American heritage, achievements, and contributions to American society.

We encourage you to use this day to celebrate how far we have come and reflect on the ongoing struggle for racial justice and equality for all in the United States.
