A wonderful event was held at Angelico Concert Hall, Dominican University, last week honoring Tehniat Cheema as Educator of the Year, School Fuel as NUSD’s Community Partner, and the outstanding classified and certificated staff members from schools across the district.

Assemblymember Damon Connolly recently honored Amarantha for her outstanding work as a community organizer with Parent Voices Marin. In addition, Superintendent Dr. Tracy Smith and the Board of Trustees recognized her at a recent Board meeting for her dedication and service to families and the community.

Congratulations to the RISE Hamilton K-8 School Chess Team for an incredible performance at the 2026 U.S. Chess National Middle School Championship in Texas! ♟️🏆

The team placed 5th in their division, and 7th grader Alex Alaniz earned a perfect 7-0 record to win the National Division Championship against more than 200 players! Seven team members also earned individual medals.

So proud of these students for demonstrating grit, resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the national stage!
