CPA WEEK 7 HIGHLIGHTS: Crime Scene Investigations!

Our participants dove deep into the fascinating world of Crime Scene Investigations (CSI). We were incredibly fortunate to host special guests from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), who provided an exclusive look at how real-world crime scenes are processed and how critical evidence is collected.

Participants got to step inside the Ohio BCI Crime Scene Mobile Response Unit vehicle and check out the cutting-edge equipment used by forensic experts to solve complex cases.

A huge thank you to Ohio BCI for sharing their time and expertise with our class!

CPA WEEK 6 was an intense, eye-opening night as our participants dove into the critical topic of USE OF FORCE.

Understanding how and when law enforcement utilizes force is one of the most complex parts of policing. Participants started the evening learning about foundational case law that governs police actions and the strict levels of force officers must navigate during rapidly evolving situations.

Participants then stepped into the shoes of our officers using the department's MILO Situational Awareness Simulator. This high-tech, immersive system placed participants in real-world, split-second scenarios—forcing them to make critical decisions under pressure. From verbal de-escalation to deciding whether to deploy a tool, everyone got a firsthand look at the immense mental focus required on the job.
