🎨 Take a stroll through the NMS Art Show, featuring more than 500 incredible works of art created by our talented middle school students!

The entire school was transformed into a vibrant gallery showcasing a wide variety of mediums, styles and creative expression. From colorful paintings and drawings to unique mixed-media pieces, every hallway became a celebration of student imagination and artistic growth.

Students and staff have been enjoying the installations all month long, bringing color, creativity and inspiration to every corner of the building. ❤️🖤

Our Grade 3-5 students at Liberty Elementary recently had the opportunity to learn from the pros during a special hands-on basketball workshop led by KLINIC Kids!

Through drills, games and interactive activities, students worked on their shooting skills while exploring the importance of confidence, perseverance and believing in themselves both on and off the court.

Led by former professional athletes, the session gave students the chance to learn from individuals who understand firsthand the value of hard work, resilience and a positive mindset.

☀️ UNE was one for the books!

Our students had a blast spending the day racing, competing, laughing and making memories with friends. From exciting games and friendly competition to plenty of school spirit, the energy was contagious as classmates, staff and families cheered one another on.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. It was a wonderful celebration of teamwork, perseverance and fun—and a perfect way to start to wrap up the school year TOGETHER! ❤️🖤

This past month, Nyack Public Schools proudly celebrated our newly tenured educators—a milestone that reflects their dedication, impact and commitment to our students and school community.

Joined by the Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Lizzette Ruiz-Giovinazzi, administrators, colleagues and loved ones, these outstanding educators were recognized for the difference they make every day.

As Dr. LRG shared, may they continue to be bold in their pursuit of excellence, equity, innovation and optimism as they help shape the future of NPS.

❤️🖤 Giving back never goes out of style.

This week, the Nyack High School National Honor Society proudly presented a donation of $1,540 to Soup Angels of Nyack, supporting its important work serving local families and individuals in need.

The funds were raised through the generosity, hard work and dedication of our NHS students, reflecting the organization's commitment to service, leadership and making a meaningful difference in the community.

We were honored to welcome Soup Angels Committee member and our NPS Board of Education member Elaine Philhower, who visited students to accept the big check on behalf of the organization. She shared how impactful this contribution will be, just how far it will go and expressed how proud she was of our high schoolers for their commitment to helping others.

Moments like these are a powerful reminder that when students come together with a purpose, they can make a real difference in the lives of others.

🎓 Senior Awards Night | Class of 2026

There are few moments that capture the strength of a community quite like Senior Awards Night.

Surrounded by family, friends, educators and community members, nearly one-third of the Class of 2026 was recognized with scholarships totaling more than $130,000. While the awards themselves are significant, the stories behind them made the evening unforgettable.

Many of the scholarships were created to honor loved ones, celebrate alumni, or continue legacies that have shaped the Nyack community for generations. As each was presented, students learned that these awards represent more than financial support—they represent faith in their potential and the promise of what lies ahead.

That message was echoed by Director of Guidance Lorraine Longing as she opened the ceremony.

🗣️ “These scholarships are more than just financial awards. They are an expression of belief. A belief in who you are today and all that you are capable of becoming tomorrow.”

Throughout the evening, our seniors were reminded that they are part of something larger than themselves—a community that invests in their dreams and wants to see them succeed.

🗣️ “As you accept these scholarships, take a moment to truly appreciate what this recognition means. Remember how it feels to be supported, encouraged and uplifted because one day you will have the opportunity to do the same for someone else.”

As the Class of 2026 prepares to turn the page, we hope these scholarships serve as a reminder that many people believe in them, are cheering them on and are excited to see what they accomplish next.

💜 Knowledge saves lives.

The Nyack High School Family Resource Center, in collaboration with Nyack Public Schools, recently hosted a community NARCAN® training to provide families, staff and community members with the tools and information needed to respond to an emergency.

The event featured presentations from Kayla Fender of the Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence (RCADD), NPS Student Support and Substance Prevention Coordinator Dornzella Milligan and NHS Family Resource Center Coordinator Jessica Hinojosa.

Attendees also heard from Nicky Zion, who courageously shared the story of her son, Josh, a Nyack High School graduate. Her powerful message underscored the importance of education, awareness and community support in preventing overdose and saving lives.

Free NARCAN® kits were distributed to participants, ensuring community members left with both knowledge and resources that could make a difference in an emergency.
