The Nyack Joint Fire District is comprised of the four villages of Nyack, South Nyack, Upper Nyack, & Upper Grandview. The District provides for a unified tax base for the 4 villages which, in turn, funds the all volunteer Nyack Fire Department. The District maintains 6 fire stations housing 8 fire apparatus, 1 marine unit, & the high angle rescue team. The District is administrated by 5 publicly

The Nyack Fire Department recently placed in service 10-SRV a 2025 RAM 3500.
The truck will be used to tow
High Angle Rope Team trailer, 10-Marine trailer, and the Rockland County Decon trailer to assist Rockland County Hazmat

On July 27th at 03:17 the Nyack Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival units went straight to work on extinguishing the fire and extensive overhaul to check for all hot spots. All units were picked up just under 3 hours. Great work by all departments involved

The Nyack Fire Department was dispatched at 21 48 hours on March 14th for a dryer fire in a single family residence. On arrival, moderately heavy smoke was venting from the rear of the structure. The IC requested a retone from 44 control. An initial attack line was placed into operation while a search was conducted which confirmed the occupants were out of the building and accounted for. Teamwork between several companies had the fire knocked down within a few minutes. The scene was cleared at approximately 2314 hours and all companies return to quarters.

Yesterday just after 1300hrs the Nyack Fire Department was dispatched to wires down and burning. Upon arrival with the heavy winds the fire spread to a large area of brush, and also threatened several homes. All units worked together to extinguish the fire and was a great job by all.

Just after 9:30 last night the Nyack Fire Department was dispatched to an MVA with extrication. After arrival on scene firefighters were able to extricate two occupants from inside the vehicle with assistance from . All units worked great together and were picked up within the hour
