Officer Sid is back with more Halloween Safety tips. Keep your spooky night fun and safe by sticking together in groups with a trusted adult, and only visiting homes that have their porch lights on. Remember, never step inside a stranger's house, always walk instead of running, and carry a flashlight or glow stick so you stay bright and visible in the dark. When moving through the neighborhood, cross streets strictly at crosswalks and intersections—never dart out between parked cars! Finally, a quick reminder to all drivers; slow down and keep an eye out for little ghouls and goblins. Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Upcoming construction on Eggering Dr. includes the full reconstruction of the deteriorated roadway with a new asphalt surface matching existing limits, storm sewer infrastructure upgrades, and a new 6-foot sidewalk extending from Sonderen Street to Westhoff Park. A full detour for eastbound traffic will go into effect on October 26 and is anticipated to run through April 2027. Motorists are advised to follow all posted detour signs, exercise caution, and consider alternate routes throughout the project duration.

Additionally, starting Monday, October 26, a contractor will replace concrete slabs at the City Hall Sonderen St. entrance. During this work, traffic will be permitted to access City Hall from Main St. for approximately two weeks.

Help stock local food pantry shelves this holiday season during Volunteer O'Fallon's 26th annual Cornucopia of Care food drive!

From October 26 through November 20, we are collecting non-perishable food items and personal care products to support our community. With the holidays right around the corner, there is no better time to share goodwill with your neighbors.

Donations can be dropped off at any of the following locations:
• O’Fallon Municipal Centre
• O'Fallon Justice Center
• Renaud Center
• More drop-off locations listed on our website.

Unable to make a physical donation? You can still make a big difference. Sign up for Volunteer O'Fallon's Family Volunteer Day on November 21 to help sort donations and deliver them directly to local pantries.

On October 2, Volunteer O'Fallon had the privilege of celebrating some of the individuals and groups who make a difference in our community at our annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet. This year's celebration recognized volunteers for their dedication, years of service, and outstanding contributions to the City of O'Fallon.

Through August 1 of this year, we've had 1,030 individual volunteers contribute nearly 5,000 hours of service, supporting 17 City departments through events, programs, and service projects. We are grateful for the difference they have already made and the impact that they will continue to have throughout the rest of 2026!

The following are this year's annual award recipients:

Youth Leadership Award - Ethan Hornback
Recognized for his hard work, reliability, and dedication while serving at the Renaud Center through the Summer Team Employment Program (STEP).

IMPACT Award - O'Fallon Docent Program
Honored for preserving and sharing our community's history through educational tours of O'Fallon's historic buildings.

Team Excellence Award - Citizens First Division
Recognized for consistently going above and beyond to welcome, assist, and support our volunteers at City Hall. They create a positive experience for the volunteers that are serving throughout our City.

Family of the Year - The Mannion Family
