Yesterday was a very busy day for the members of JTFD1.
We started our day with a joint training drill with NJNG, JTPD, and Milton First Aid Squad.

Then we assisted WM on Rt 23 with an MVA and medivac landing on the highway.

We ended our night with RIC training.

It is October and that means Fire Prevention. Members of JTFD1 have been visiting schools and daycares on the Milton Side of town and Stepping Stones in Hardyston teaching the importance of fire safety.

Several things we teach is to
-Stop, drop and roll. Remind your kids to place their hands at their sides NOT their face.
-Have a meeting spot
- Know 2 ways out
-How to check their bedroom door. Bedroom doors should ALWAYS BE KEPT CLOSED WHEN SLEEPING.
-Not to be scared of firefighters
- AND GET OUT AND STAY OUT!

We always have such great teachers willing to put the gear on to show the transformation of someone they know to someone who is a firefighter and that we are safe to come to during a fire.

Thank you to the teachers and schools for opening your doors and allowing us to share fire prevention with your students.

Last night Tiger troop from Pack 49 visited the fire house.

The boys got to see the equipment that we use, and the gear we wear. They also went for a special ride in Engine 722 and were able to use a water can.

Thank you for visiting and learning about the fire department.

Tonight Members of JTFD1 did their CPR recert class so that we are ready for any emergency that may arise. It is a skill we would rather not have to use but you never know when there will be a need.

Thank you to members of Milton First Aid Squad for teaching us and always working with us.

JTFD 1 is a 100% Volunteer company. Interested in joining you can stop by on any Tuesday.
