So far in 2026, the natural gas industry has added 17,500 miles of pipelines. This helps ensure American families have access to affordable, safe and reliable fuel. The distribution system is key to American life and to keeping industries running smoothly.

Make sure to call 811 the next time you plan an outdoor project such as:
📫️ Installing a fence, mailbox, or other below-ground posts
🌳 Landscaping, such as planting trees or shrubs
💧 Digging a hole for a pool, sprinkler, or other irrigation
TN 811 notifies utility companies of the intent to dig, and professional locators mark the approximate locations of underground lines with flags or spray paint at the site. Skipping this step could result in cutting the wrong cable, disrupting electricity, internet, gas, or worse.

🎉 Celebrating 75 Years of Service and Our Customers! 🎉
Today, we wrapped up Public Natural Gas Week with a special Customer Appreciation Day as part of our yearlong celebration of ORUD’s 75th Anniversary! 🥳

We enjoyed celebrating with our customers at both locations! Our Oak Ridge office served complimentary hot dogs, chips, drinks, and cookies, while our Kingston office welcomed customers with complimentary donuts and coffee. 🌭🍩☕

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to celebrate with us! We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our communities and appreciate the trust you have placed in Oak Ridge Utility District over the past 75 years.
