👏 A town hall should be pretty simple: show up, listen, and actually answer people’s questions.
That’s what we got when Anna Golladay, Democratic candidate for Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District, joined us for her Anderson County Town Hall!
Anna shared how, even after losing her first run for Chattanooga City Council, she couldn’t unhear the stories people told her while knocking doors. Those conversations still shape her belief that, despite our political differences, most of us are worried about the same things: affording groceries, accessing healthcare, and building a better future for our families.
The evening covered everything from data centers and immigration enforcement to the war with Iran and corruption in Washington. And Anna got a good laugh when discussing tariffs:
“Did any of you get your tariff refunds? Interesting.” 😂
She also promised that constituents would hear back from her congressional office within 72 hours, and drew a pointed contrast with her opponent, Chuck Fleischmann: we need someone who will show up and actually answer our questions, not just listen to the industries putting money in his stock portfolio.
And she’s putting in the work! Since August, her campaign reports 35,000 doors knocked, 35,000 phone calls, and 50,000 postcards sent.
What stood out most? Anna answered the questions people actually asked, even the difficult ones. And throughout the evening, she returned to a simple belief: “I believe in the inherent dignity of every person.” Even those who disagree with her.
Thank you to Anna and everyone who joined us for a great conversation!
