Alegre Home Care participated in the Marin County Senior Fair on Wednesday, September 16! Care Managers Honore Weiss and Rosa Torrres represented Alegre Home Care. The theme of this year‘s fair was “Not My First Rodeo”.

Honore and Rosa had fun talking to seniors about our services. Added fun included seniors getting a Polaroid photo taken with our stand-up Clint Eastwood!

Alegre Home Care is also a member of the Marin Home Care Association, which is the licensed Home Care, health, and Hospice organizations in Marin County. Honore is in this photo with Caroline.L Glassell of Marin Home Care who is on the executive team of the Marin Home Care Association with Alegre Home Care Director of Client Services, Carol Parks.

October 1 is the International Day of Older Persons. Did you know that the number of older people (defined as those aged 65 years or older) tripled from around 260 million in 1980 to 761 million in 2021. Between 2021 and 2050, the global share of the older population is projected to increase from less than 10% to around 17%.

Rapid growth in the number of people reaching older ages underscores the significance of promoting health, preventing, and treating illnesses throughout the entire course of life.

Hospice supportive care provides additional non-medical assistance to help someone receiving hospice services remain comfortable and supported in familiar surroundings.

At Alegre Home Care, hospice supportive caregivers work alongside the client’s hospice providers rather than replacing them. While the hospice team manages the individual’s medical plan and end-of-life care, Alegre caregivers can provide practical assistance, companionship, and consistent support with everyday routines.
