Denim Day is a campaign that takes place during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We wear denim to show solidarity with survivors, raise awareness, and educate others about all forms of sexual violence.

Today is Denim Day! Every year we honor and uplift the survivors of sexual assault 💙 wear denim in solidarity of victim survivors of this crime!

Happy Thanksgiving, Alameda County!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our staff, 85 dinners are being served for families from the Family Justice Center AND the Boys & Girls Club of Oakland. Thanks to the ACFJC Foundation for supporting families and making sure they had a Thanksgiving celebration.

A big thanks to John Vidano, who did all of the late-night purchasing of turkeys and dinner fixins for a proper Thanksgiving!

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honors the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

As we conclude United Against Hate Week, we reaffirm that hate has no place in our community. Our Office is committed to creating a safer and more accepting Alameda County.

At the end of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we honor both victims and survivors with a Day of Remembrance. 💜
Each year, the community comes together to honor the victims who were killed as a result of domestic violence, and to empower the survivors. The names of murdered victims in Alameda County are read out loud, from 1996 onward, and a bell is rung in their honor. This year, on the 20th annual Day of Remembrance, we read 220 names. We fight each day to try to put a stop to domestic violence and ensure that one day, there will be no names left to read.
