Promoting social healing by helping us recognize we are all more similar than different. Create the America we need by making your voice heard.
I want to first be clear that this HealAmerica.me movement is not affiliated with any formal party, side, or political affiliation. This movement is intended to spark honest, basic conversations and give people the tools to be effective at getting their voice heard. That said, I think we can all agree that we have become complacently distracted by the misconception that our government makes decisi
ons on behalf of our best interest and will take care of us regardless of our involvement. That if we keep to ourselves and do "the right thing", everything will be alright- that we will have fulfilled lives. That distraction promotes the lie played out in society that says your life, your feelings, and your voice; that my life, my feelings feelings, and my voice; that every other person's life, every other person's emotions, and every other person's voice is not valid and does not matter. We must reject that lie and know the truth: that we are more similar than different and that we can have empathy to recognize the validity of how each other is feeling. Our complacency must become invigorated determination to refocus our efforts off the distractions which have blinded us and closed our hearts. If we are losing faith in our government, then we are losing faith in each other and in ourselves. We still live in a democracy where every voice has power and every voice counts. Heal America by engaging in discussions. Heal America by writing congress. Heal America by participating in effective demonstration. Only all of us, working together, can Heal America. We are going to start with these three projects:
1. Protecting civil liberties - especially of women, minorities, immigrants, and Muslims.
2. Be an advocate for the environment
3. Prevent nuclear proliferation
