At the intersection of politics and the humanities is the @suffsmusical !

While it was a wonderful night out, it won’t distract this league president for the work ahead, especially in 2026!

On April 17, 2025, #CelinaStewart, CEO of the @leagueofwomenvoters declared that under the current president and his administration the United States is experiencing a #constitutionalcrisis . The League issued a plan #UniteandRise 8.5 to counteract this crisis. It is a solid plan and I believe everyone who can, should do their part to implement it.

However, we must do more. NOW.

We must listen to the voices that tells us “we can’t do anything”, or “it’s not affecting me”, or “what can I do?” And then believe what you see is going on, compare what has happened in history, and pay attention to people affected by policies and those you trust to tell you the truth about the state of things.

If you have read this far and would like to do something, anything, to work for a future we all want, then join me in non-partisan political work-where I believe our broken democracy has a chance to heal with the @leagueofwomenvoters @lwvpiedmont @lwvofca or any of your local leagues.

Please look forward to upcoming events we over at the @lwvpiedmont are working on locally-like our Holiday Luncheon with Larry Rosen and @theenemiesproject and consider taking a vital role to assist me with fighting our good fight.

Thank you,
Lisa Gardner
