Please tell any interested college students:
AFT Labor and Politics Internship: we will be running a large political internship program for students interested in learning about labor and working on the fall campaigns.
All interns will be expected to: 1) Enroll in a Labor Studies course at City College for the Fall semester on Tuesday evening from 6:55 to 10:00; 2) Come to a weekly intern meeting on Monday afternoons; 3) Be available for 4 hours of work from 4-8 on one of the following days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday OR do walks on Saturday Mornings.
Students should have dependable transportation and be excited to do political work for AFT! Experience is an asset but not required if the student is responsible and good with people.
The pay is $15 dollars an hour and the class expenses will be covered upon successful completion of the labor studies course.
AFT Organizing internship: We will also be running a smaller internship for students interesting in learning about labor and doing internal organizing for the AFT.
All interns will be expected to: 1) Enroll in a Labor Studies course at City College for the Fall semester on Tuesday evening from 6:55 to 10:00; 2) Come to a weekly intern meeting on Monday afternoons; 3) Have a flexible schedule to do 4 hours of organizing on the City, Mesa, Miramar, Grossmont, and Cuyamaca College campuses along with other site locations.

This is a fantastic, PAID fellowship during the summer for San Diego's college students (both community and 4-year) who are interested in doing work in the area. As Schools Buy More Local Food, Kids Throw Less Food In The Trash
Kids in America's schools are eating more local food, although it makes up only a small part of the average meal. Advocates say local food doesn't have to cost more, but buying it does take more time.
