JUSTICE FOR THE NEGROS 19! DEFEND THE LAND & STOP THE ATTACKS! ✊❤️‍🔥

We are infuriated, in grief, and compelled to take action upon learning about the massacre of the Negros 19 and the displacement of hundreds of residents in Toboso, Negros Occidental, Philippines.

Two American comrades were killed, including Bay Area kasama Lyle Prijoles, who many East Bay DSA members knew. Other civilians killed were youth, residents, and organizers reporting on the state violence in Negros and the livelihood of farmers.

East Bay DSA shares the same demands as the International Committee of Human Rights in the Philippines:

1. Hold an immediate and independent investigation into the AFP’s massacre on April 19th in Negros Occidental;
2. Ensure the victims’ families, as well as their lawyers and human rights advocates, be given full access to their loved ones’ remains without any threat, interrogation, harm, intimidation;
3. End U.S. support and funding for the Marcos Jr. administration, as well as U.S. military aid to the Philippines.

You can sign a petition to amplify these demands to the U.S. State Dept. & U.S. Embassy in the Philippines at tinyurl.com/negros19-petition ✅

May we hold their lives and memories close, and deepen our organizing and solidarity to ending oppression in the Philippines and ending the U.S. war machine ✊

Recent escalation of the decades-long embargo with additional sanctions & cutting off access to oil to Cuba's already strained energy grid accelerated this humanitarian crisis on its 10 million people.

Come talk with some Bay Area DSA comrades about their recent experience in Cuba with the Nuestra America Convoy and show your support for Cuba! 🇨🇺🇨🇺

Happy 73rd birthday to journalist, political prisoner, and comrade Mumia Abu-Jamal!

Mumia has spent the last 44 years of his life imprisoned. Despite the state 's literal barriers between him and the outside world, Mumia has continued to fight for justice, speak of liberation, and articulate how our struggles are interconnected. Solidarity campaigns across the world have fought for decades to bring Mumia home.

Free Mumia & free them all! ✊
To hear Mumia 's journalism, check out (San Francisco and Philly based!)

The Bay Area working class stands with Minneapolis against Trump’s fascist ICE goons. Join East Bay DSA, Bay Area Labor for Palestine, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Palestinian Youth Movement, and others as we march and rally in Oakland to honor the historic Minneapolis general strike (Day of Truth and Freedom) called by Minnesota unions and the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation.
The working class and socialists stand for life. ICE and the fascists stand for death. Democratic politicians are still weighing the pros and cons. In the same city that rose up against racist cops after the killing of George Floyd six years ago, fascists are being deployed to murder, kidnap, and brutalize migrants and people of color.

We know we face the same enemies here in the Bay Area - from racist cops to ICE agents and the billionaires who want to deploy them both against everyday people. It’s up to US to stand up and fight back - sick out, walk out, and stand in solidarity with our siblings in Minnesota - honor their call and join us to rally and march at the Fruitvale BART at 4:00 PM on Friday!

Yesterday, working class organizations in San Francisco, the Bay Area, and across the US to take part in a national day of action. Over 1,300 community members gathered in SF to demand no war with Venezuela and no ICE.

Trump continues to ratchet up the stakes, and the working class in the Bay continues to stand on business. From Minneapolis to Cuba, from Venezuela to Greenland—we know these struggles are interconnected. Capitalism leads to imperialism, and imperialism always boomerangs back to strike those in the imperial core.

But we also know that a better world is possible. To stop the terror inside and outside of American Empire, we need to continue building a movement for the working class, by the working class. We need to continue to not just mobilize, but organize! Organizing for the long haul is how we will win.

DEC 18 @ 3 PM: PACK THE PORT TO STOP OAKLAND’S COMPLICITY IN GENOCIDE!

It’s been 4 months since PYM’a report exposed the killer cargo flying out of the Oakland Airport—and so far, Oakland’s leaders have done nothing. Help us make sure that we are unavoidable.

Join us for a protest and port board meeting to demand that the port authority respect the will of local residents and international law. Bring your noisemakers and your friends to the protest as we set the tone for the meeting and public comment to follow. We’ll be packing the room to demand an end to the Israeli military cargo shipments flying out of Oakland’s civilian airport, OAK.

SEE YOU ON THURSDAY DEC 18! Whether you can make it or not, TAKE ACTION by emailing the board - you can click the link to send an email at: armsembargonow.com

RSVP for the rally at the link in our bio.
