Participants from CEI PACE Temescal and East Oakland enjoyed a special outing to see the 1978 musical classic The Wiz at the Landmark Piedmont Theatre—complete with a private theater rental!
Field trips like these take a village, and we're grateful to our Activities and Transportation teams for making it easy for participants to get out, connect, and have fun together.

Center for Elders' Independence (CEI) is a non-profit health plan that's been serving the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years, providing the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) to seniors age 55 and older who prefer not to move into a nursing home but whose health problems make it impossible for them to stay at home without the help of caregivers. Carnival came to CEI PACE San Leandro! Participants enjoyed a day of outdoor games, nutritious snacks and sunshine while the team helped create a festive atmosphere.
A special shoutout to Rehab Aide Jonas Francovich, who dressed up as a clown and even showed off his juggling skills for participants.

As we celebrate Older Americans Month, we also join Governor Gavin Newsom in recognizing May as Older Californians Month — honoring the older adults who “immeasurably enrich our families and communities” and provide “invaluable perspectives and knowledge.”
One of those inspiring older adults is CEI PACE participant Tracey Nobil, who continues to advocate for housing and issues impacting seniors in her community. With the support of CEI and the PACE model of care, Tracey is empowered to stay independent, engaged, and connected. In this video, she shares how she went from “living alone to living alone with CEI by my side.”

As AAPI Heritage Month comes to a close, we want to share this special video featuring one CEI participant Mrs. Raa. Through her artwork, she connects with the people around her in the CEI community.
We’re proud to celebrate the many Asian American and Pacific Islander team members and participants who are part of CEI. Thank you for sharing your cultures, experiences, and traditions with our community every day.

Mental health is an essential part of healthy aging.
During National Mental Health Awareness Month, CEI is highlighting the importance of emotional well-being for older adults. Feelings of loneliness, anxiety, grief, or depression should never be ignored.
At CEI, mental health support is not just limited to therapy, it's woven into the daily support system, from spiritual care and activities like meditation to gardening, shared meals, and time spent in community.
It’s been a week since the PACE Party, and we’re still feeling the vibes. Thanks to the incredible support of our community and the efforts of Center for Elders' Independence Foundation, we raised more than $215,000 to help older adults facing urgent financial hardships and unexpected crises.
Check out some of the video highlights from an unforgettable evening of rooted in community.

A healthy smile is about more than just your teeth—it’s an important part of your overall health.
As we age, changes like dry mouth or gum sensitivity can increase the risk of heart and brain complications. The good news? Small daily habits—like brushing, staying hydrated, and keeping up with care—can make a meaningful difference.
At CEI, we believe every part of your health matters. Because feeling your best starts with caring for the whole you. Visit elders.org to see how we help older adults maintain their health and independence.
