Fostering homegrown leadership is in EBAYC’s DNA. Read the powerful journey of our Street Team Life Coach, Bernice Grisby, in Oaklandside article. Her path from a volunteer to an after school teacher to family advocate to a life coach, and her unwavering commitment to change lives is awe inspiring and a shining light of hope.

We’re incredibly proud of our EBAYC After School Program team for showing up strong alongside community partners to advocate for Oakland youth and families!
Our team participated in today’s rally and press conference ahead of the OUSD board meeting to voice concerns over the impact of Resolution #2425-0084. We stand in solidarity with our partners in urging the Board to rescind this harmful decision. Our commitment remains rooted in ensuring youth have access to safe, enriching, and empowering out-of-school programs that support their growth and success—both academically and socially.

We warmly invite you to Hmong Pride and Unspoken screening at the Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival on May 2nd and May 3rd. The pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, particularly for young people's mental health. In response, the EBAYC Sacramento Team provided a platform for young people to share their stories. The resulting video series documented their lives and challenges and showcased the personal growth and self-discoveries that empowered them to reclaim their sense of self, culture, and heritage. Two standout videos - Hmong Pride and Unspoken- will be featured.
We are excited to share first-come, first-served complimentary tickets to Hmong Pride and Unspoken screenings. Please use code "hmongpride100" for Hmong Pride and "unspoken100" Unspoken at check-out. We can't wait to see you there!
