Two shy guys need your help to find their people this weekend!
Poet and Finn are available to meet by appointment at the shelter. Both are reserved around people but once they get to know you, they will show their affectionate and silly personalities - Poet’s toy deconstruction skills and Finn’s Olympic style zoomies.
Take a chance on a wallflower, and help them blossom!
Band Camp is a 6-year-old, 111-pound Malinois mix with big zoomies and a very joyful way of moving through the world. He’s an affectionate goofball who loves people and treats.
He might have some vision impairment, but it doesn’t slow him down. He moves through life with confidence and curiosity. He’d love an adopter who can guide him on leash and some playful dog friends along the way.
This big boy is currently working on a healthy weight loss journey and would love to stay active and supported with a steady routine. He’s shown up as a stray a few times, so he’ll need a secure home and people who are extra mindful with doors, gates, and leashes to help keep him safe.
Come meet Band Camp and other adoptable pets at Oakland Animal Services during our open adoption hours Thursday 12-6:30pm, and Friday through Sunday 12-3pm.

Thanks to all of the adopters who’ve recently made OAS kitties part of their families. In fact, just this past weekend, 52 cats and kittens found homes!
But we still have more to choose from, with new ones coming in every day. Join this gallery of happy adopters by stopping by during our no-appointment adoption hours Thursday from noon to 6:30 p.m. or Friday through Sunday from 12-3!
OAS’ small but mighty unit of Animal Control Officers, with the help of the Oakland Fire Department’s Station 1, recently teamed up to save some baby ducklings after they got trapped inside a drain.
Mama duck alerted our officers to her plight, and with patience, ingenuity and compassion, Oakland’s Animal Control Officers and Firefighters brought everyone to safety, reuniting them back on shore.
