Ba Duan Jin runs through November 27th at Oberlin Public Library!

Oberlin College student Jenny Wei is offering the community a trial of the Eight-Pieces Brocade (also known as the "Ba Duan Jin"), an ancient Chinese Qigong complex featuring eight gentle movements designed to enhance physical health, balance, and mental well-being. This low-intensity practice promotes the flow of qi (energy), and improves physical strength, supporting holistic mind-body wellness.

Classes meet weekly on Fridays from 5-5:45 pm.

Whether you're interested in sustainability or just dreading raking your yard this year, join Black River Audubon Society Executive Director Rob Swindell at OPL on Monday, September 21st for a special presentation exploring the ecological benefits of leaving fallen leaves in your yard instead of raking them away. Leaf litter provides essential habitat for pollinators, enriches soil health, and supports local wildlife while reducing waste and labor. Discover simple ways to embrace this natural process for a healthier, more sustainable landscape.

Presentation will be held at 6pm in the Community Room
