The Ocean Gate Police Department sends our thoughts and prayers to K9 Loki, Sgt. Kosh, and the entire South Toms River Police Department.

We are wishing Loki a successful surgery, a full and speedy recovery, and many healthy days ahead. Stay strong Loki, you’ve got a lot of people rooting for you!!!

Earlier today, Sgt. Kosh and K9 Loki were conducting training exercises in South Toms River when K9 Loki suffered a sudden medical emergency.

K9 Loki was immediately transported to Garden State Veterinary Specialists (GSVS) in Toms River, where veterinary staff were able to initially stabilize him. Recognizing the need for further advanced medical care, South Toms River Police K9 handlers activated the K9 Kona Medevac Program to facilitate an emergency medical transport to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.

Upon arrival, K9 Loki was evaluated and further stabilized by veterinary specialists. K9 Loki is currently awaiting emergency surgery.

We are extremely grateful to the veterinary professionals, K9 Kona Medevac Program, New Jersey State Police, Ocean County Sheriff 911, Toms River Police Department, Toms River Police EMS IAFF Local 4846, Tracy Connellan, and everyone involved in getting Loki the urgent care he needs.

We ask that everyone keep K9 Loki, Sgt. Kosh, and the South Toms River Police Department K9 Unit in their thoughts as Loki undergoes treatment.

Additional updates will be provided when appropriate.

WHO’S READY FOR OCEAN GATE DAY?!

Tomorrow is Ocean Gate Day! Come out and enjoy a full day on the riverfront with your friends, family, and neighbors.

CARDBOARD BOAT RACE – 12:00 PM
One of our favorite Ocean Gate Day traditions is back! Head down to the pier at noon to watch this year’s teams put their cardboard creations to the test. We are still accepting last minute registrations!! For some reasons the neighboring law enforcement agencies didn’t want a shot at the title…….

The Ocean Gate Day festivities will end with a band on the beach at the Wildwood Pavilion at 6:30 P.M.

Ocean Gate Day is always a great opportunity to bring our community together, support our local organizations, and enjoy everything our little town has to offer.

We hope to see everyone out there tomorrow! Please use extra caution traveling through the area, as there will be increased pedestrian traffic throughout the day.

The members of the Ocean Gate Police Department have been hard at work in the lab making repairs to OGPD Marine 1 as we prepare to defend our championship title. The question is... Who is coming for the crown this year? Scan the QR code or visit the registration link below to sign up today.

We can't wait to see everyone's creativity, teamwork, and maybe a few spectacular sinkings on Ocean Gate Day!

Mother Nature just can’t seem to make up her mind lately. One minute it’s sunshine, the next it’s pouring rain.

Before today’s showers rolled in, our officers had the chance to cool off with some delicious homemade lemonade from our friend at the lemonade stand on Ocean Gate Drive. Thank you for the refreshing treat in today’s heat!

If you see them out there on a nice day, be sure to stop by, grab a cup, and support our young Ocean Gate entrepreneurs!!!
