We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, the Ocean Shores Police Department joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honoring the extraordinary courage of the first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens who answered an unimaginable moment with bravery and selflessness.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the tragedy of that day, but the strength, sacrifice, and unity that followed.

May we continue to honor their memory through service to one another and by never forgetting the lives forever changed on September 11.

Never Forget. 9/11/2001

๐Ÿš“ Now THATโ€™S a way to start the school year! ๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ

Our Ride to School with an Officer National Night Out winner, Luka, got a first day of school he wonโ€™t soon forget!

Luka and his brother Asher started their morning with a special ride in the โ€œwee woosโ€ with the Ocean Shores Police Department. ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™ And, of course, no VIP police experience would be complete without some cool police swag to take home!

We canโ€™t think of a better way for Luka to kick off his first day of school. Seeing those smiles made our morning just as much as we hope we made theirs.

A big thank you to Luka, Asher, and their family for joining us at National Night Out and letting us be part of such a special first-day memory.

Have an AMAZING school year, Luka! Weโ€™re pretty sure you officially had the coolest ride to school today. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ“š

Two Arrested Following Burglary Investigation at Shilo Inn

The Ocean Shores Police Department arrested two individuals last night following an investigation into a burglary and theft of copper from the Shilo Inn property.

During the investigation, officers developed leads that provided identifiable vehicle information associated with the individuals suspected of involvement.

While conducting routine patrol, Officer Papac observed a vehicle matching that information parked near the Chance a La Mer beach approach. Officer Papac, along with Sergeant Fode, subsequently conducted a check of the Shilo Inn property. Their investigation resulted in the apprehension and arrest of an adult male and adult female.

Both individuals were transported and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on suspicion of Burglary in the Second Degree. The male was additionally booked on suspicion of Malicious Mischief in the First Degree and Theft in the First Degree.

As part of the investigation, officers seized the vehicle associated with the suspects. A significant amount of suspected stolen copper was located in the vehicle, along with two backpacks containing cut copper. Officers also located a large quantity of copper pipe and wire in the dunes behind the Shilo Inn property.

The investigation remains ongoing, including efforts to document and identify the recovered property and determine whether additional offenses or involved individuals may be associated with the incident.

The Ocean Shores Police Department recognizes Sergeant Fode, Officer Papac, and Officer Elia for their diligence, teamwork, and proactive police work throughout this investigation. The combination of investigative follow-up, effective communication, and attentive patrol resulted in the identification of the vehicle and the apprehension of both suspects.
