The Oceanside Fire Department’s eight firehouses provide a presence in every neighborhood throughout the 42 square miles of the City of Oceanside. The lives of over 180,000 residents and visitors are protected 24 hours per day, 365 days per year by 115 sworn personnel. An additional staff of nine provides support with the goal of efficiently and effectively serving the community. In addition to providing emergency response services to the community, there are a number of non-emergency functions performed by the Fire Department. They include fire investigations, plan checks for all new development, fire prevention inspections, and public education, disaster preparedness, and informational programs.
