VFW Post 2260 SOLVESON-MOOS-ABRAHAMSON POST 2260
Oconomowoc, WI 53066 VFW Post 2260 received its charter on October 14, 1931. Wisconsin Avenue.

VFW Post 2260 was formed to help veterans and families of veterans in the city of Oconomowoc, veterans’ VA hospitals and the VA Home for Children in Eaton Rapid, Michigan. It had 19 members and has grown to 200 members (as of May, 2023). The Post was named after three men who served and died in World War I, namely: Walter Solveson, Martin Moos and Herbert Abrahamson. The first meeting place was above the old Lorleberg Hardware on North Main Street. The second meeting place was above Stevens Drug Store and the third location was the Knights of Pythias Hall on South Main Street. After the men came home from World War II, they met at the Armory. On December 12, 1947, the Post became incorporated and registered with the State of Wisconsin. The post then worked on various fund-raising projects to enable them to buy a plot of land on Walnut Street. On November 10, 1964, we sold this land and purchased our first VFW meeting place on Highway 67 north of Oconomowoc. We met here until March 31, 1970 when we purchased the present VFW clubhouse at 830 E.

Fabulous day of golfing with friends and supporters at our 11th annual outing! While the date was pushed back a week due to the previous week's weather, we had a strong showing, and Saturday's weather was fantastic! ⛳️ 🇺🇸

Thanks so much to everyone that golfed, sponsored or donated, participated in the raffles, and especially to our VFW Auxiliary 2260 for coordinating and running the event! Bravo Zulu!

What an incredible night at the 2nd Annual Rally for the Vets! 🇺🇸

To Road Crew and Ed Goff — thank you for bringing the music and the energy that made this event unforgettable. To Nice Boots BBQ — thank you for keeping everyone fed and happy. And to the entire Lake Country community who came out to Okauchee Lions Park to support our local veterans — this event happened because of YOU.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward the VFW Post 2260 Building Project, helping us build a lasting home for our veterans to gather, connect, and be honored for their service.

Thank you for standing behind those who served. Post 2260 is grateful beyond words. 🎖️
