🐔🍀 4-H Broiler Chicken Clinic! 🍀🐔

We had a great morning with our 4-H families who will be showing broilers at this year’s Ector County Livestock Show!

A HUGE thank you to Chloe Moehring with Diamond M Poultry Production for taking time out of her morning to share her knowledge with our families! From preparing for the arrival of their broilers to tips on raising, caring for, and showing their birds, Chloe provided some great information to help our exhibitors get ready for show season!

We also want to give a big THANK YOU to the Harding family for opening up their place and hosting our clinic this morning! We truly appreciate your hospitality and support of our 4-H program! 💚

We are so thankful for the families and community members who are willing to give their time, share their knowledge, and help our 4-H youth learn and succeed!

We can’t wait to see our exhibitors put what they’ve learned into practice this show season!

We are so excited about starting this project!

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 THBEA Youth Beekeeping Education Grants!

These eight organizations are creating, restarting, or expanding opportunities for young Texans to learn about honey bees and gain practical beekeeping experience.

Thank you to the educators, mentors, and volunteers who make these programs possible. We look forward to seeing what your students accomplish!

Calling all Ector County 4-H Members! Community Club Meeting will be held Monday, November 2nd in the Ector County Commissioners Court Room. 1010 E. 8th Street, Odessa, TX 79761 at 6PM. Please make plans to attend. Adult leaders meeting will be held immediately following the community club meeting. Officers should plan on being present to set up at 5:30pm. Ector County 4-H Food and Nutrition meeting: Monday October 19th. 5:30pm 1801 N. Jackson Ave, Odessa, TX. Bring your recipes for the county show. No cooking tonight. So, eat dinner. We are practicing the skills and nutrients part of the competition. If you have flash cards from last year, bring them, please.

Reminder: All Project Leaders and participants need to be registered and approved 4-H Members.
October 19th: Pick up Pumpkin Bread forms in the office. Orders are due November 10th.
October 19th: Food & Nutrition 5:30pm Bring recipes for food show. Discuss County Food Show and Skills Training. If you want a binder to practice, pick one up in the office.
October 29th: Sewing at 5:30pm. Bring your loop yarn.
Major Stock Show Sign Ups: November 2-5, 2026, Monday-Thursday 8am-3pm. Cash, Check or Zeffy. ALL entries must be paid for at the time of registration. NO Exceptions! Sign up and pay for San Antonio online. Sandhills you must sign up online but also have a special eligibility form signed by Steve to upload online.
November 2nd: Community Club Meeting 6pm in the Commissioner’s court room
November 5th: Entomology Meeting at the UTPB Duck Pond 5:30pm
November 7th: Basin Beautification Project 8:00–10:00 AM
