Our PreK–2nd grade students had a very special visit today from some of our local firefighters!
Our students learned important fire safety tips, what to do in an emergency, and how our firefighters help keep our community safe. They even got to see our local heroes up close and ask questions!

A huge THANK YOU to our firefighters for taking the time to visit Blanton Elementary and make fire safety fun and memorable for our students.

🖐️ HIGH FIVE FRIDAY! 🖐️

Our Blanton Bears had the BEST welcome crew this morning! 🐻🧡🖤 From UTPB football players and cheerleaders to the Falcon mascot. Our students walked through the doors surrounded by Falcon pride and BIG high fives!

The smiles say it all! We love seeing UTPB show up for our students and help us kick off the day with excitement, encouragement, and a whole lot of orange and black! 🧡🖤

Thank you, UTPB, for helping make this Friday one to remember! 🐻🦅👏

Today, two of our amazing 3rd grade teachers, Ms. Ornelas and Ms. Salgado, were recognized at the board meeting for leveling up on TIA!

Blanton is so blessed to have you both. Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and all you do for our Blanton Bears. Your impact on our students does not go unnoticed!

Congratulations, ladies! We are so proud of you! 🌟

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

It may seem like attendance isn't as important in elementary school, but these are the years we're building the foundation for future learning. Missing days now can create gaps that follow students for years.

A few important facts:

📅 Missing just 2 days a month can equal chronic absenteeism.
📖 Students who are chronically absent in the early grades are less likely to read on grade level by 3rd grade.
🎓 By 6th grade, chronic absence can be an early warning sign for future school struggles and dropout risk.

Of course, kids get sick and absences happen! Our goal is simply to remember: Every day matters, and good school habits start NOW!

Let's have some fun celebrating Attendance Spirit Week! 🎉

Sincerely, Mrs. Garcia (school counselor)

Parents, please remember to turn right at the stop sign during both morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.
Turning left causes traffic to back up into our school driveway, creating an unsafe situation for our students, staff, and families. Thank you for helping us keep our arrival and dismissal procedures safe and efficient for everyone!
