Our first graders dug into learning with their annual pumpkin investigation! 🎃

Students measured pumpkins’ height, weight, and circumference (the distance around), learned about the parts of a pumpkin, and read about pumpkins. Then came the hands-on fun: feeling the insides and carving a pumpkin!

A little mess and lots of discovery brought reading, math, and science together!

A bag of everyday items. A brand-new invention. Just 60 seconds to sell it!

Our 3rd- and 4th-grade HAL students kicked off the program this week with a 60-second commercial challenge! Each group received a paper bag filled with random items and worked together to turn them into a product before pitching it to the group.

Their creative inventions included:

• Magnoculars: magnets and toilet paper tubes
• Fall Race board game: dice, a pumpkin, and a clothespin
• Febreze Sniffer 2.0: a rubber band and a sock

What a fun way to put creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork into action!

An OHS alum on the big screen! Dan Bauer appears in “Going for Two,” and he has a special invitation for OG Nation in the video below!

Catch the movie with FREE admission to the 3:00 p.m. showing on Friday, October 23, at Prairie Theatre, 208 N. Spruce St. in Ogallala.

A big thank-you to Rembolt Ludtke and McQuillan and Wendell LLO for sponsoring the tickets for this showing! Their generosity makes it possible for our community to enjoy an afternoon at the movies while cheering on an OHS alum.

A little fall fun is headed your way, OG Nation!

Families and community members are invited to the Prairie View Primary Harvest Parade on Friday, October 30, at 1:00 PM, featuring our kindergarten, first-and second-grade students!

Find a spot anywhere along the parade route: students will walk from the playground doors toward the main entrance, circle the big O, and return to the playground doors.

K–2 families: Costumes are welcome, but not required! Costumes must follow the school dress code, with nothing scary, bloody, or violent and no weapons or weapon accessories. Students must be able to put on and take off their costumes independently. Watch for your classroom teacher’s costume and party plans.

Students may leave with a parent/guardian after the parade but must be signed out. Students staying will follow regular dismissal procedures.

Older siblings will remain in class and dismiss as usual. For early pickup, parents/guardians must check in with the front office.

Come help us celebrate our Harvest Parade!

4th and 5th Grade Families: Help us honor those who have served!

We’re updating our Veterans Day slideshow with photos of family members of current 4th and 5th graders who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. Please use the attached form to submit your photos.

Photos submitted last year for students who are now in 5th grade should still be included. Only those students’ photos were carried over. You’re welcome to resubmit photos or email Mr. Ochsner at [email protected] to confirm they’re included.
