On Tuesday, September 29, Emma Castor, Ashley Neiman, and Maggie Street of WCNDD participated in the 2026 Governor’s Summit in Kearney, Nebraska.

Hosted by Governor Jim Pillen, the Governor’s Summit brought together leaders and professionals from communities and organizations across Nebraska to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategies for strengthening the state’s future.

Featured speakers included Governor Jim Pillen, University of Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen, and Nebraska men’s basketball Head Coach Fred Hoiberg.

The Village of Sutherland, in partnership with West Central Nebraska Development District, assisted in the improvement of Anchor Memorial Park - a place built for connection, recreation, and generations of memories.

DWEE will host a public event on Monday, March 2, to discuss Perkins County Canal updates and review elements of the canal route and potential reservoir locations. Come see us at the NACO West Training Building Center north of Ogallala from 10 a.m. to noon (Mountain Time).
