We caught a glimpse of the next gen of innovators and creators today. The Ogden MSA was listed as #2 for best places for aerospace and defense and it was exciting to see these students ready to keep that going!

For a decade The Local Artisan Collective has given Ogden’s artists and makers a place to share their work, connect with the community and turn their creativity into something special. This Saturday they threw a party fit for 10 years of business filled with what they do best-- art!

Founded by Stephanie Howerton and Jenny Rawson de Venegas, The Local Artisan Collective is a reminder of what makes Ogden’s small business community unique-- their passion and creativity.

Congratulations and here’s to many more years of business and art!

It's exciting to have this expansion in Ogden!

It was a rainy but fulfilling afternoon breaking ground on the new north campus of Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital. The campus will be built where the original David O. McKay Hospital once stood at 3939 Harrison Blvd., a place I knew well during my days at Weber State University.
I joined Intermountain Health, the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce and my fellow mayors from Northern Utah to celebrate this investment in our region.
Putting on a hard hat and turning the dirt isn’t the real work, but it marks the start of something important — not just a medical facility, but a community better equipped to care for its people.
Looking forward to seeing this project take shape!

Development in Ogden’s East Central neighborhood continues to move forward with the Capitol Square project. Located between 24th and 25th streets and Monroe Boulevard and Quincy Avenue, the block is home to the Q25 development, which opened last year. Now, Ogden City is looking to build on that progress by transforming a nearby vacant lot into a new mixed-use development.
The Ogden City Redevelopment Agency has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a qualified developer to create a project featuring residential and commercial spaces.

📢 Mandatory pre-proposal meeting
Thursday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m.
Weber County Library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., Ogden
Attendance is required for all companies planning to submit a proposal.
Proposal deadline: Friday, Nov. 6, by 4 p.m.

Interested developers can review the full RFP, related documents and details on the selection process at

Improvements are coming to Historic 25th Street in an effort to make it more ADA-compliant and walkable by Spring!

These improvements were shaped by feedback from 25th Street businesses and community members.

Construction will happen overnight, from 2am to 10am, with no road closures, but you may see some construction cones. This work should not interfere with the downtown businesses, but in the end, the street will have better crosswalks, wayfinding signage, tree irrigation, and places to sit.
Stayed tuned!
