The Support Center (El Centro de Apoyo) Vision:
To make a safe confidential and inclusive environment that is supportive educational and empowering too all.

The Support Center seeks to help victims of crime throughout Okanogan County, (i.e., domestic violence, sexual assault, and any other crime) by providing many services to these individuals and families free of charge. Some services we provide are:

24/7 Crisis Hotline
Crisis Intervention
Support Groups
Emergency Shelter
Personal Advocacy Based Counseling
Medical & Legal Advocacy
Emergency Financial Assistance
System Coordination
Outreach & Awareness
Community Organizing
Prevention Education
Safety Planning

The Support Center has been providing these services and more since 1978, over the years we have been able to get some funding through the state and federal grants that are available, though they have strict spending guidelines, and we rely on fundraising opportunities to assist with the cost of some services that our grants cannot cover. We rely on our fundraising opportunities such as:

Shamrocks -4- Safety - March
Wine Women & Purses - October
Direct monetary donations - All year
In-kind donations - All year

These fundraising opportunities help us get some extra funding to continue supporting the important work we do for those in our community who need it most. Our Mission:
The Support Center is comprised of people dealing with the concerns of battered individuals, sexual assault, and general crime victims and their families. We oppose the use of violence as a means of control over others. We support equality in relationships and the concept of helping people assume power over their own lives. Our Vision:

πŸ’œ **OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH** πŸ’œ

October is a time to raise awareness, honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost, and remind our community that **domestic violence is never the victim’s fault.**

Domestic violence is about power and control. It can take many forms, including physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, financial, and digital abuse. Sometimes the signs aren't visible, but that doesn't make the harm any less real.

πŸ’œ **To survivors:** You are not alone. You deserve safety, respect, and a life free from abuse.

πŸ’œ **To friends and family:** Believe them. Listen without judgment. Offer support.

πŸ’œ **To our community:** Learn the signs. Speak up. Challenge the behaviors that normalize control and abuse. Help create a community where everyone can feel safe and respected.

At **The Support Center**, we believe everyone deserves relationships built on equality, safety, respect, and freedom from violence.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing information, resources, and ways you can help raise awareness and support survivors in our community.

**Together, we can work toward a community where violence is not accepted, survivors are supported, and everyone has the power to live safely and freely.** πŸ’œ
