💧 FREE CHLORINE FLUSH BEGINS TODAY

The Okeechobee Utility Authority's temporary Free Chlorine Flush begins today, October 12, and will continue through November 2, 2026.

During this process, you may notice:

💧 A stronger chlorine taste or odor
💧 Cloudy or discolored water during hydrant flushing

These temporary conditions are not harmful to your health and should clear after the flushing process.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you are on kidney dialysis, please consult your physician for any special instructions.

🐠 If you have tropical fish or aquatic animals, contact your local tropical fish store for advice on properly treating water before adding it to your aquarium.

The Okeechobee Utility Authority will temporarily change the method used to chlorinate our drinking water as part of an important process to help ensure the continued safety of our water system.

📅 October 12 – November 2, 2026

During this temporary process, customers may notice a stronger-than-usual chlorine taste or odor in their tap water.

These conditions are temporary and will not be harmful to your health.

🚰 Customers may also notice cloudy or discolored water during hydrant flushing. This is a temporary condition and should clear within a few hours.

The Okeechobee Utility Authority (OUA) has been made aware of a private company contacting customers within our service area regarding water testing services and representing or implying that they are contracted with or affiliated with the OUA.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐔𝐀 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲.

The OUA does not authorize private companies to represent themselves as an OUA contractor or affiliate for the purpose of soliciting water testing services from our customers.
