Claremore Regional Airport (KGCM) was honored to join the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics for the release of its latest statewide economic impact study.

In just shy of a decade, ODAA reported that KGCM witnessed a more than $2M increase in its on-airport impact, with even greater fiscal impact driven by this industry throughout our community.

As Will Rogers home, it is fitting to see the aviation legacy continued through modern airport operations and related workforce programming.

Today, the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics announced that our aerospace sector now has a $52.5 billion economic impact across our state. That’s nearly $10 billion more than just a decade ago.

That growth is powered by the aviation and tech companies that call Oklahoma home, our five major military installations, our network of regional airports and the more than 100,000 Oklahomans who keep this industry growing.

The sky's the limit. ✈

What an amazing opportunity we had this morning to join Veterans and community members at Rogers State University for their 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in observance of the 25th anniversary.

Thank you to all who came out and participated in this inaugural event. We look forward to seeing you for those 110 flights next year.

The Oklahoma Senate joins our nation in remembering the tragedy that changed our country 25 years ago, on Sept. 11, 2001. We mourn the lives lost and honor the first responders and others who answered the call to serve in the aftermath of 9/11.

Big news for Rogers State University!

RSU has been approved to offer Oklahoma’s first three-year bachelor’s degree at a regional university. The new Workforce Development degree will prepare students for high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing, automation, cybersecurity, and digital forensics.

After tragedy struck Camp Mystic in Texas last summer, the families forever changed by the flash floods vowed to prevent anything like it from ever happening again. Many of these families channeled their grief into advocating for stronger camp safety and emergency preparedness laws across the country.

House Bill 1675, the summer camp safety bill I worked on this year with Rep. Josh Cantrell, wouldn't have been possible without their advocacy. Yesterday, we celebrated their hard work and honored those who were taken too soon at Camp Mystic with a ceremonial signing of HB 1675. It was truly a bittersweet moment as we gathered together in the Blue Room of the state Capitol. I appreciate all the work members of the Safe Summers Foundation and others put into this bill, which establishes stronger emergency preparedness standards for camps and youth outdoor programs to keep Oklahoma kids safe.

Summer camp is a time for kids to let loose, have fun and just be kids. With these new requirements, no one will have to worry about what happens if severe weather strikes a local summer camp. Every camp and every staffer will be more prepared than ever before.
