Safety Matters:
I believe that a safe workplace is a priority for every employer and employee. My vision is to move toward a culture of personal responsibility and cooperation rather than one of strict oversight. By focusing on education and voluntary compliance, we can empower our workforce to innovate safely. We all want high standards for our jobsites, and we can achieve them while ensuring the government remains a helpful resource that respects the right of every citizen to build a business and earn a living.

Food for thought:
Why not shift the routine safety inspections on things like elevators to private liability insurance companies? It is in an insurance company’s best interest to not have a catastrophic incident in a building they insure.
Voters should reject State Question 832 this June. While raising wages sounds compassionate, the economic reality is that mandatory wage floors hurt the very people they are intended to help.

One change I would propose if elected is occupational licensing reform. People have a right to earn a living. After a thorough review, I would advocate for right-to-earn initiatives that streamline professional entry for lower-risk occupations by transitioning to a voluntary certification model.
My website should be up and running soon. Stay tuned for more ideas for the ODOL.
