🏀 THE THUNDER IS BACK, AND TEAM OKCPS IS BRINGING THE BOOM! 💙🧡

When the Oklahoma City Thunder hit the court this season, four familiar faces from our OKCPS staff will be part of the action! From our classrooms and hallways to center court, these staff members are bringing the energy! ⚡

⚡ Alex Thomas, kindergarten paraprofessional at Chavez Elementary, returns as a Thunder Storm Chaser!

⚡ Cerena Chaney, dance teacher at Classen SAS Middle School, is celebrating her fourth season as a Thunder Girl!

⚡ Aarti Hartfield, principal at Chavez Elementary, is back for her second season as a Thunder Storm Chaser!

🥁 Jaylen Mustin, OKCPS security officer, is bringing the BOOM for his ninth season as a Thunder Drummer!

From inspiring students to energizing Thunder fans, these four show that OKCPS talent shines well beyond the classroom and right into the heart of our city! ❤

The Thunder tip off the season Tuesday in San Antonio before returning home Thursday against Denver.

Let's show our Thunder pride by wearing our Thunder gear both days!

Help us give Alex, Cerena, Aarti and Jaylen a BIG round of applause! 👏

THUNDER UP, TEAM OKCPS! 🏀Let's GOOOOO! 🌩🌩🌩

We just shared some incredible news!

OKCPS has been awarded $7.5 million in federal funding over five years to expand mental health services and support for our students!

Through Project AWARE, we'll be able to strengthen prevention efforts, provide earlier intervention and connect more students and families with the mental health resources they need to thrive.

Healthy students are better prepared to learn, grow and succeed!

These junior police officers are making headlines! 🚔👏

Our friends at featured Bodine Elementary's Junior Police Program on their "Something Good" segment. These young leaders are stepping up to serve their school and setting a great example.

Thank you to Jennifer Pierce and her photographer for shining a spotlight on these outstanding OKCPS students! 💙

The Junior Police help with school duties, serve as role models and get hands-on experience with local law enforcement.
