Remember the Giving Machine OKC in Bricktown this past Christmas season? 🎁 We're still seeing the impact of your generosity.
One of the gifts purchased through the Giving Machine was a home kitchen kit. This week, those kits are helping individuals and families as they move from shelter into housing.
For many clients, move-in day is a fresh start. After months of working toward stability, they finally have a place to call their own. Being able to cook a meal in their own kitchen is often one of the things they look forward to most.
Thanks to Giving Machine donors, clients moving into housing will have the pots, pans and kitchen essentials they need to begin this next chapter.
Thank you to everyone who gave through the Giving Machine. Stay tuned as we continue sharing the impact from the Giving Machine. 🧡

🥣 A big thank you to JMA Energy for showing up in a big way for our community.
Last year, their team donated more than 90 boxes of cereal during their summer drive. This year, they set a goal of 100.
Their employees had other plans.
Together, the JMA team donated an incredible 166 boxes of cereal to help stock our pantry and support those moving into permanent housing. Then, to make the impact go even further, company leadership committed to providing additional items including shelf-stable milk for our kitchen and food boxes for clients who have moved into housing.
Every box represents something more than breakfast. It represents a community coming together to make sure neighbors have the support they need during a difficult season.
Thank you, JMA Energy, for helping care for families and individuals across Oklahoma City. We are grateful for partners who see a need and step in to help. 🧡

Cedric never thought he’d end up without a place to call home.
After working for more than 20 years, he suddenly lost his job. Before long, his savings were gone and every day became about simply getting by.
He shared it this way: “You can’t think about thriving... you’re thinking about survival.”
That’s why something as simple as a hot meal is so important.
A meal says, “You matter. We’re glad you’re here. Don’t give up.”
For many people, it’s the first real moment of hope they’ve had in a long time.
Because of caring friends like you, neighbors in crisis can receive meals, care and support when they need it most.
Will you help provide meals and care for someone in need today?

🛣️ Save the Date: Mission of Hope 2026.
This year is a special one. As City Rescue Mission celebrates 66 years of serving Oklahoma City, we're also celebrating the centennial of Route 66—an iconic road built on journeys, new beginnings and finding your way forward. Much like Oklahoma's historic Route 66, every journey has a story. Every day, we have the privilege of walking alongside neighbors as they find their way home.
Join us on September 17 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for our 27th annual Mission of Hope. Together, we'll celebrate the lives changed through shelter, housing and the support of a community that believes everyone deserves a place to call home.

Whether you've attended for years or have never joined us before, we'd love to have you along for the journey. More details coming soon.

122 households. 210 individuals. 75 children.
Behind every number is a person with a story.
A mom who can finally cook dinner in her own kitchen. A dad who found steady work. A family reunited under one roof. Someone celebrating a year of recovery. A child sleeping in their own bed again.
Through April, 122 households moved out of our shelter and into stable housing.
For many, homelessness was never part of the plan. More than 60% of the people we serve are experiencing homelessness for the first time after some of life's hardest moments, like job loss, domestic violence or a health crisis.
What happens next matters just as much as move-out day. Our case managers continue walking alongside clients during their first year in housing because stability takes support. Today, 98% of clients who leave City Rescue Mission remain housed one year later.
These numbers represent hard work, resilience and new beginnings.
From homeless to home. 🧡

MYTH: Getting a job is enough to stay out of homelessness.
The reality is more complicated.
Even full-time work at minimum wage often isn’t enough to cover basic housing costs. For many people, the gap between income and rent is simply too wide.
That’s why recovery and stability take more than just employment. It takes time, support and access to the right resources.
At City Rescue Mission, we walk alongside people as they work toward stable housing. That can look like help getting an ID, building a resume, preparing for interviews and taking the next step toward employment that can actually support long-term stability.
Work matters. And so does having a path forward.

Flashback Friday ⚡️
At City Rescue Mission, one of our guiding principles has always been being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us. Our focus has remained the same—clients access the food, housing and support they need to move toward stability.
Over the years, that has also meant growth across our campus.
Looking back at photos from 2008 and 2009, we are reminded of how much has changed—from updates to the kitchen to a new logo and spaces that have grown alongside those we serve.
One of our favorite reminders of time passing? A tree planted near the playground by OU students in 2008. Today, it provides shade for children and families spending time underneath it.
When you are busy doing good, you sometime miss all the growth – and it’s celebrating. 🧡

A big thank you to Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma for helping bring a little extra joy to individuals and families staying at City Rescue Mission. 🧡
As part of their annual Lab Week celebration, DLO hosted its first toy drive benefiting the Mission. Their team collected more than six boxes of new toys, school supplies, reusable water bottles, bags and blankets for individuals and families in our shelter.
These gifts provide comfort and encouragement during a difficult season. We save many of the toys for birthdays, move-ins and Christmas gifts so children staying with us can celebrate special moments along the way.
And when the day comes for individuals and families to move into housing, items like blankets, bags and water bottles help their new place feel a little more like home.
What makes this gift even more meaningful is the heart behind it. DLO employees not only donated items, they also asked how they could continue supporting our community through volunteer opportunities.
We are grateful for partners who see a need and step in to help. Thank you, DLO, for investing in our neighbors and helping make City Rescue Mission feel a little more like home.

We’re grateful to be a recipient of a generous grant from Junior Hospitality Club, Inc. 🧡
Support like this helps make our work possible — from safe shelter and daily meals to case management and housing support for individuals and families working toward stability.
Because of partners like Junior Hospitality Club, more people in our community have access to the resources, support and encouragement they need as they take their next steps forward.
Thank you for believing in our mission and investing in brighter futures for our neighbors.

Feeling called to something bigger?
From day one to move-out day, our case managers walk alongside clients as they work toward stability.
Clients come to us from all kinds of situations. Some have experienced job loss. Some are leaving unhealthy environments. Some simply need support finding their next step.
No two stories are the same, which is why we often say: one size fits one.
Our case managers help clients navigate housing, paperwork, employment resources and the ups and downs that can come with rebuilding stability. They are there for hard conversations, big milestones and move-out day.
Right now, we are hiring:
• Case Manager
• Security
If you are looking for meaningful work and want to be part of helping people move toward their next chapter, we would love to hear from you.
