Beginning Monday, the First Christian Church Building on 36th Street was demolished, which has caused much concern in the neighborhood and across other historic preservation communities. It’s a sad loss for our community. OKC’s HP Alliance will be hosting a meeting to discuss this and what might replace the church on Monday, Oct. 17th at 5:30 PM in the Carriage House of the Overholser Mansion in Heritage Hills. Edgemere Park neighborhood association will be attending but we encourage anyone interested to attend.

OKC Memorial Marathon runs through the beautiful Edgemere Park. Thanks to some neighbors we have old school rap and mimosas on Mimosa Hill on 35th street. The marathon route and Mimosa Hill are yards away from a bench in the park dedicated to bombing victim Susan Ferrel. Susan was a resident of Edgemere when she died in the Murrah Bombing.
