Innovation is helping shape the future of the National Guard in Oklahoma.

Staff Sgt. Herbert Hailey, Oklahoma Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, developed an artificial intelligence tool that could save more than 61,000 hours of administrative labor across the force.

Built using skills gained through an Oklahoma National Guard-hosted AI and data training course, the tool automates the process of identifying Soldiers eligible for time-in-service awards, allowing personnel professionals to spend less time processing paperwork and more time supporting Soldiers and mission readiness.

The Oklahoma National Guard continues to explore how emerging technologies can improve efficiency, strengthen readiness and better serve its Soldiers and Airmen.

More than 170 engineering installation Airmen assigned to the 137th Special Operations Wing and the Minnesota Air National Guard gathered at Camp Gruber Training Center for Exercise Thunderwolf, a demanding readiness exercise designed to sharpen technical skills and prepare Airmen to operate in contested environments.

Throughout the exercise, Airmen trained on mission-critical communication systems while responding to simulated threats including drone surveillance, chemical hazards and enemy activity.

Training like this develops the technical expertise, adaptability and readiness required to support warfighters anytime, anywhere.

Airmen from the 138th Fighter Wing participated in a combat readiness exercise at Camp Gruber Training Center on June 4-5, testing their ability to deploy, survive and operate in a contested environment.

Designed to replicate the challenges of modern combat, the exercise pushed Airmen to execute mission-essential tasks under realistic conditions while strengthening the skills needed to support combat operations.

Training like this builds lethality, sharpens readiness and ensures the Oklahoma Air National Guard remains prepared to answer the call whenever and wherever needed.

Developing future leaders is an investment in Oklahoma's future.

During the annual JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge, 80 cadets from across Oklahoma sharpened their leadership skills through adventure training, teamwork exercises and military instruction designed to build resilience and confidence.

The Oklahoma Army National Guard supported the event by providing facilities, equipment, medical support and Soldiers who worked directly with cadets throughout the week.

"Without their professional training and expertise, we would be unable to fulfill the JCLC program of instruction," said Kyle Brede, senior Army instructor for Guthrie High School JROTC.

Developing leaders today helps ensure Oklahoma remains strong tomorrow.

The next fight won't wait for Soldiers to learn on the job.

Engineers from the 120th Engineer Battalion continue to improve and expand Camp Gruber Training Center's trench system while training on the same skills they will be called upon to execute during large-scale combat operations.

The construction effort provides engineers hands-on experience in construction operations in support of large-scale combat operations. At the same time, the completed trench lanes will help future units train in realistic battlefield conditions.

Their work today helps prepare tomorrow's force to fight and win.
