Removing Israeli flags doesn’t resolve the issue. Public school trips should be held at neutral venues, not sites linked to Israeli military programs.

Sixth graders from two public middle schools in Greenwich are scheduled to leave next week for a four-day field trip in the Berkshires, but some parents are raising concerns about the location.

At an interview with Connecticut Mirror, Senator Richard Blumenthal was asked why he continues supporting U.S. taxpayer funding for Israel’s military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

His response?

“I am rethinking, reviewing … what my votes are going to be going forward.”

Senator Blumenthal, how much longer must Palestinians wait?

Despite overwhelming evidence of war crimes, findings of genocide in Gaza, and ongoing Israeli settler terrorism in the West Bank, American taxpayer dollars continue to support Israel’s military.

Acknowledging excessive bombing and settler violence is not enough. Words must translate into action.

CAIR-CT calls on Senator Blumenthal to stop supporting military aid that enables these abuses and demand accountability under international law.

This past Tuesday, representatives of CAIR-CT and NHIC met with Congresswoman Rep. Rosa DeLauro to discuss Gaza, Palestinian human rights, and U.S. policy. We welcome her leadership in introducing the Stop the Settlements Act and her clear call to end illegal Israeli settlements, displacement, and settler violence in the West Bank.
