Did you happen to get stuck in a little traffic on Highway 79 today? You may have noticed a MoDOT contractor out re-striping the highway again! This is part of an ongoing effort between 79 Safe and MoDOT Northeast District to keep our lane lines fresh, bright, and easy to see! This may seem like a small, insignificant accomplishment but rest assured this is forward progress to improving roadway safety along this highway!

🇺🇸🇺🇸Happy Birthday, America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

From your Old Monroe Police Department, we wish you a wonderful and SAFE holiday this weekend. From the smells of grilled hotdogs and gunpowder, to the sights of children playing in the yards and fireworks lighting up the night sky. We love it all. We love this country, this county, and this little town of ours. Most of all, we love our citizens.

This holiday, we want to see everyone return home with all ten fingers and toes, and in one piece. We'd like to send you off with a few reminders:

🚗 Wear your seatbelt!
📞Put down your phone!
🚕Don't drink and drive!

Have a safe weekend celebrating!
