🚀 BIG NEWS FOR OUR ENGINEERING STUDENTS! 🚀

We are proud to announce that four of our outstanding students have been selected for the 2026 NASA Propulsion Technology Experience through the University of Kentucky Pigman College of Engineering! 🌎🛰️

Congratulations to:
🔹 Elias Sammons
🔹 Callie Lewis
🔹 Melvin Witter
🔹 Eli Harper

These students were chosen through a highly competitive selection process for this incredible opportunity to explore the world of aerospace engineering! During their trip to Huntsville, Alabama, November 5–8, 2026, they will tour NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, visit the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, and meet with University of Kentucky alumni who are making their mark in the aerospace industry.

We are also excited to share that our engineering teacher, Breianna Shaffer, was selected to serve as a teacher chaperone for this experience!

A special thank-you to the Lighthouse Beacon Foundation for providing scholarship opportunities and fully funding this entire experience for our students and teacher chaperone. Their generosity makes incredible educational opportunities like this possible and allows our students to explore exciting futures in STEM without the financial burden. We are truly grateful for their investment in our students and their futures! ❤️

Opportunities like this allow students to see firsthand how the engineering skills they are developing today can lead to incredible careers tomorrow. We are so proud of these students and excited for them to represent our school on this amazing adventure!

Help us congratulate these future engineers! 👏🚀

The Teaching and Learning Pathway at 3CTC is taking an innovative approach to instruction for the 26-27 school year. Students enrolled in this pathway are learning the ins and outs of being a teacher from one of the best in our school system, Briana Adams, at Prichard Elementary.

Instead of our students having traditional class at the high school building, they are learning what teaching is all about in a truly immersive way by working at Prichard Elementary School each afternoon while they complete the course credits for the Teaching and Learning pathway.

Each student has "lab" time daily with the talented staff at Prichard. Our kids work in classrooms alongside teachers to get the most authentic experiences, all while helping younger students learn and strengthen important skills each day.

Recently, the Teaching and Learning class was visited by Bree Massie, KDE's Teaching and Learning Program Consultant and Educators Rising State Coordinator. Ms. Massie was very impressed with our learning model and shared with us that our program will be featured in KDE's upcoming "Grow Your Own" back to school bulletin.

As part of our "Grow Your Own" initiative, we are providing reasons for students to love teaching in Carter County and hopefully want to come back and work here after college.

🔥 REAL-WORLD WELDING. REAL-WORLD OPPORTUNITIES. REAL-WORLD MONEY. 🔥

Today we had the opportunity to welcome Kegan Dales from Kentucky Welding Institute (KWI) into the welding classroom at Carter County Career & Technical Center!

Kegan spent time with our senior welding students discussing some of the big decisions they will soon face as they enter the skilled trades — from choosing a trade and finding the right career path, to understanding the many job opportunities available in the welding industry.

And, of course… we had the BIG MONEY TALK! 💰💰

Our students got to hear firsthand about what is possible when you develop your skills, work hard, gain experience, and take advantage of opportunities in the welding industry.

Kegan also brought the classroom into the shop with TIG welding demonstrations on monster coupons, giving our students a look at the type of welding, testing, and skill level they may encounter when testing for jobs in the industry. 🔥🧑‍🏭

Most importantly, Kegan shared his own story and background, giving our students a real-life example of where hard work, welding skills, and the right decisions can take them.

These are the experiences that help our students see that welding isn’t just a class — it’s a career with countless opportunities.

A huge thank you to Kegan Dales and Kentucky Welding Institute for taking the time to invest in our students and give them a glimpse into what their future could look like! 🤝🔥

The classroom teaches the skills. The industry shows them where those skills can take them.

🔥 Senior Welding Students Take on the Metal Works Expo! 🔥

Our senior welding students had the opportunity to travel to Kentucky Welding Institute (KWI) in Flemingsburg, KY for the Metal Works Expo!

This was an incredible hands-on learning experience for our students as they got to see the welding industry from a whole new perspective. They had the chance to watch skilled welders in action, explore welding equipment and technology, talk with industry professionals, and get hands-on experience with different welding processes.

Trips like this give our students a chance to connect what they learn in the classroom and welding shop to the real-world opportunities waiting for them after graduation. 🧑‍🏭🔥

We are proud of the way our seniors represented our welding program and took advantage of this opportunity to learn, network, and experience the welding industry firsthand!

A huge THANK YOU to Kentucky Welding Institute and everyone involved with the Metal Works Expo for welcoming our students and helping provide such a valuable experience!

The future of welding is looking bright! 🇺🇸🔥

🚜 Hands-on learning is in full swing at CCCTC!

Our heavy machinery school students are putting their pre-trip knowledge into practice using our heavy equipment simulators. These simulators give students the opportunity to experience equipment operation in a safe, controlled environment before taking those skills to the actual machines.

💡 Learn It. Practice It. Master It. 💪

Our senior welding students are putting safety first!

Today, our seniors at Carter County Career and Technical Center are getting started on their OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course.

Safety is one of the most important skills our students can take with them into the welding industry. This course gives them the opportunity to learn about workplace hazards, personal protective equipment, safe work practices, and the responsibilities that come with working in a construction and welding environment.

We’re proud to see these students taking another step toward becoming skilled, knowledgeable, and safety-minded professionals. 👏🔥

Safety first. Skills for life. Preparing tomorrow’s workforce today!
