Thank you to Judge LeRoy McCullough (Ret.), Judge Willie Gregory and Alice Gregory for supporting Garmon Newson II for Seattle Municipal Court. I especially want to thank Dawn Mason for supporting Garmon’s campaign.

Judge Willie Gregory said he doesnt "come by decisions to endorse lightly, especially when it comes to who will be serving the community I’ve loved and served - as an attorney, community leader, and as a judge for the last 16 years. After my time on the bench in Seattle, and with an understanding of what is needed moving forward, I can proudly say that I endorse Garmon Newsom II to succeed me as judge for Seattle Municipal Court Position 5.

Representation Matters.

There are only a dozen African American male judges on the bench in Washington state, three of whom are retired or retiring this year. Garmon is the only African American man running for a judicial seat in King County. I know personally the importance of what that representation means and the gravity that it holds.

At a time when our courts and communities are facing serious challenges, Garmon has both the legal and lived experience to meet this moment."
