Join us to kick-off honey sales at this wonderful indoor event! Shifts are two hours. The hours of the event are 11am-8pm on Saturday, and 12-5pm on Sunday. An adult must be present if children are volunteering.

Disabled people belong in our communities, not in institutions.

The Defend Community Integration Coalition supports H.Res. 1586, a new bipartisan House resolution introduced by Representatives Debbie Dingell and Brian Fitzpatrick.

This resolution reminds lawmakers that under federal law and the Supreme Court's Olmstead decision, people with disabilities have the civil right to live and receive services in their own homes and local communities.

Because these rights face new threats, Congress must protect community living. Real progress also requires funding home care services and paying direct care workers fairly.

How you can take action:

1. Contact your U.S. Representative: Bring to their attention the importance of H.Res. 1586 and reaffirm Congress's commitment to community integration and civil rights.

2. Contact your U.S. Senators: Educate them about H.Res. 1586 and ask them to support introducing a similar bipartisan resolution in the Senate.

For over 50 years, Honey Sunday has brought Omaha volunteers and the community together to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m., Ollie Webb Center, Inc. will continue this tradition and invites individuals, families, businesses, churches, schools, and community groups to help sell 1,800 bottles of honey and raise funds for local programs and services.

Volunteers can sell honey beginning in October through December in their neighborhoods, workplaces, churches, schools and at community events. Volunteers can organize sales, sell door-to-door, or help identify local businesses and community locations where honey can be sold.

Congratulations to F. Christine Powell, who was recently named one of the Top Five Direct Support Professionals by the Nebraska Association of Service Providers! 🎉👏 This well-deserved recognition celebrates the incredible dedication, creativity, and compassion Christine brings to her work every day.

Christine is truly a modern-day renaissance woman. For more than 10 years, she has brought her talents and passion to Ollie Webb Center, Inc.. In the classroom, she combines her love of music and technology to inspire participants to explore their creativity through photography, 3-D design, animation, AI, and music.

Christine has a special gift for making learning approachable. She breaks down complex tasks into manageable steps and encourages participants to discover their own abilities. Her professionalism and enthusiasm inspire not only the individuals she supports, but also her fellow team members.

Her impact extends beyond the classroom through residential support, where she takes an individualized approach to helping people maintain independence, navigate everyday challenges, make healthy choices, stay safe online, and continue living life on their own terms.

Most importantly, Christine leads with patience, compassion, and heart. When challenges arise, she reminds those around her to breathe, stay calm, and work through things together. Her example brings out the best in everyone around her.
