Remembering Dolly Parton today. 💗📚 Join PJ Library in honoring her legacy by reading a book and celebrating her lifelong love of children and literacy.

PJ Library and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation team are sad to learn of the passing of musician, philanthropist, and American legend Dolly Parton. Dolly's Imagination Library helped inspire Harold Grinspoon to found PJ Library in 2005.

When Harold had the privilege of chatting with Dolly in 2023, she shared the following with him: "I am honored to get to help inspire a love of reading in children. They truly are our future."

Harold remembers Dolly as "a truly amazing person--not only a great artist, but a great entrepreneur and philanthropist. We honor Dolly for educating millions, for her remarkable career, her kindness, her art, and especially her generosity."

Listen to some great music and read a beautiful storybook today in her memory. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and fans. May her memory be a blessing.

The snacks are disappearing. Someone is saying, "I'm boooored."

Summer at home is full of laughter, messes, sibling squabbles, and unexpected sweet moments. It's the perfect season to practice a little shalom bayit (peace in the home). 💙

Try a PJ Library-inspired family challenge:
🍉 Share one kind word at dinner.
💦 Take turns choosing the backyard game.
📚 Read a story together before bed.
💛 Catch someone doing something helpful—and say it out loud!

Peace at home isn't about perfect days. It's about creating little moments of kindness, patience, and connection that make summer memories last.

How is your family bringing a little extra shalom bayit into your summer? Check out this fun video from PJ Library for more inspiration. https://youtu.be/KmrXIfzVN50

Show us peace in action in your home and Miss. Jonnie will leave a fun surprise at the front the desk of the Jewish Community Center for you!

🎨📚 PJ Library Omaha Little Artists Spotlight! 🦒🐘

A big round of applause for Rory and Baker, our very first little artists to share their favorite zoo animal artwork! Their beautiful creations featuring giraffes and elephants have brightened our day, and we are so excited to see them spreading the joy of art, reading, and our wonderful PJ Library Omaha community.

Thank you, Rory and Baker, for inspiring us with your creativity! 💙

Have an artist at home? We'd love to see their work too! Bring your child's artwork to the Jewish Community Center of Omaha main entrance to have it displayed for our community to enjoy. As a special thank you, your child will also receive a PJ Library book!

Let's keep the joy of reading, creating, and sharing moving throughout our community—one masterpiece and one story at a time. 🎨✨📖
