‼️ BREAKING: LB258 advanced tonight in the .
32 Nebraska senators voted to undermine the will of the people who voted them into office.

❌LB258 was advanced to Select File. This bill will harm workers by severely weakening Nebraska’s minimum wage law through carving out a subminimum wage for workers under the age of 20 AND restricting the cost of living increases that Nebraskans voted for.

We’re asking you to take action–find your senator on the list and find out how they voted!

If they voted NO on LB258, please THANK them for respecting the will of Nebraska voters – and for standing up for working Nebraskans.

If they voted YES on LB258, please ask them to OPPOSE this bill next time it’s up for debate. We want a minimum wage that values our labor – regardless of age – AND ensures that Nebraska wages do not once again fall behind cost of living increases.

When Nebraskans went to the ballot box in 2022, we voted to gradually raise our state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by January 2026 — and to automatically adjust it for cost of living increases starting in 2027. Despite nearly 60% of Nebraska voters supporting this change, the Nebraska Legislature now seeks to undermine our state’s minimum wage law.

Today, the Business and Labor Committee advanced ❌LB258 (Raybould), a bill that would harm workers by severely weakening Nebraska’s minimum wage law through carving out a subminimum wage for workers under the age of 20 AND restricting the cost of living increases that Nebraskans voted for.

This bill will likely be heard and debated by the entire Legislature in the coming weeks.

Call and email your senator and tell them to OPPOSE ❌LB258 to make sure they know this isn’t what we voted for. We want a minimum wage that ensures Nebraska wages do not fall behind cost of living increases.

For everyone to have access to the good life, we must ensure that Nebraska workers are paid a living wage. That’s why the minimum wage increase passed overwhelmingly on the ballot in 2022 — and why we must now all fight to protect it.

Contact your senator now and tell them to OPPOSE ❌LB258: bit.ly/NO_258

Voters were loud and clear in 2022: Every Nebraskan should be paid enough to meet their needs. Now, lawmakers are trying to undermine our vote to raise our state’s minimum wage. ❌LB258 will all but ensure that Nebraska wages once again fall behind cost of living increases.
