Creighton University Committee on the Status of Women

Today we remember one of our longest serving committee members, Dr. Tanya Winegard, Vice Provost for Student Life. Dr. Winegard was a champion of women, a fierce advocate for our students, and the true embodiment of a woman for and with others. She was a 2012 recipient of the Mary Lucretia and Sarah Emily Creighton award, presented by our committee during Founders Week.

Dr. Winegard, we thank you for your leadership, your service, and your commitment to the Creighton community.

The Committee on the Status of Women is pleased to host the 42nd annual Mary Lucretia and Sarah Emily Creighton Awards Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 1:00PM in the Harper Auditorium. We appreciate the campus community’s support of our re-envisioned event to honor two outstanding women on our campus, Dr. Holly Ann Harris and Ms. Charisse Williams!

During the reception, we are happy to host the Childcare History Task Force. This group has developed a booklet entitled “Childcare on the Creighton Campus: The History of Women, Men, and CHILDREN for Others.” They will have copies available at the reception and ask for a $20 donation (cash/check only). Donations will be used to support campus childcare families in need of financial assistance. The Committee has long supported childcare on campus and we welcome the opportunity to support this great project!

The Committee on the Status of Women is excited to host the 42nd annual Mary Lucretia and Sarah Emily Creighton Awards Ceremony and Reception during Founder's Week in February. The event will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022 to honor Dr. HollyAnn Harris and Ms. Charisse Williams, two amazing women and this year's award recipients!

Erika L. Dakin Kirby, PhD, professor of communication studies
Katherine S. Wadas-Thalken, EdD, director of academic success, School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
Jessica Hack, senior in the College of Arts and Sciences
