The monument cleaning volunteer project was a success. We had over 200 volunteers to clean monuments and honor all the veterans and spouse's laid to rest here at the Omaha National Cemetery. Thank you all for your support. We were able to clean Sections #8, #5, #4, #3, #2, and part of #1. If you came out and took photos please feel free to share them on this post. We will be doing another volunteer monument cleaning in the end of summer/beginning of fall. Also, a very special thanks to the Omaha National Cemetery Volunteer Committee for their assistance with traffic control and organizing the special event. Once again thank you all that participated!!!

****Just a friendly reminder**** The Omaha National Cemetery will be hosting a volunteer monument cleaning day on Saturday April 25, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. If you are a veteran or a patriot (kids can also be patriots!) and would like to volunteer, please be at the Omaha National Cemetery prior to 9:00 a.m. with a bucket and a nylon brush. The Omaha National Cemetery Volunteer Committee has a limited supply of extra supplies if you don't have a bucket or a brush. To clean the veterans’ headstones is an excellent way to both honor the veterans laid to rest and show your commitment to patriotism. We will be cleaning Sections #8, #5, and if we have enough volunteers #4.

The Omaha National Cemetery sign has just been replaced and it looks great. Thank you for all the support from the community when the original sign was vandalized and letters stolen.

This marks the eighth consecutive time NCA has ranked first nationwide in the survey. The average government score for 2025 is 70.
