Des Moines-based RAYGUN opened their Old Market storefront in 2021. Omaha manager Ryan Thompson describes the business as more than a t-shirt store, with a focus on community engagement and giving back to causes.
That supportive spirit extends to the store’s employees.
“We’re all about learning and growing,” Ryan said. “Yes, you work in a t-shirt store, but we want you to do and learn more.”
Ryan loves the store’s Old Market location because he continually sees new residents and visitors in the shop. Be sure to visit RAYGUN at 1108 Jackson St. in the Old Market, open every day.

Twisted Fork has been an Old Market staple since 2013. General manager Zach Muschall attributes the restaurant’s success to quality, consistency, great service and the ambiance of a historic building.
“Most of our staff have been here for two or more years, which is rare for the restaurant industry,” Zach said. “They really care about giving good service here.”
The restaurant’s menu focuses on comfort food with a cowboy twist, including dishes like a French dip sandwich, meat loaf and mac n’ cheese, a bacon gouda pork chop, and popular happy hour sliders and tacos.
On the weekends, patrons can also enjoy brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. As the Old Market heads into its especially busy season, Zach recommends calling ahead or making a reservation through the Twisted Fork website.
Be sure to visit Twisted Fork at 1014 Howard St. in the Old Market.

Tracy Ponec started working in the bridal industry at age 19. After working in multiple markets, she moved back to Omaha and knew she wanted to bring a different bridal shop experience here — one that prioritized unique dresses by worldwide female designers for brides-to-be with a strong sense of style.
She opened Rhylan Lang Bridal in 2012 in Regency before moving downtown in 2019 to take advantage of expanded space in the Woolworth building.
“I think our brides love it here. It is such an experience,” Tracy said. “The Old Market is where people come to celebrate, so it feels like a reason to celebrate and spend a day in our beautiful downtown area.”
Why “Rhylan Lang”? Tracy shared it’s a play on her maiden name and the maiden name of a supportive friend.
“I was really young when I opened Rhylan Lang, so it feels like an homage to all the women who stood behind me in this big dream and propped me up in this business.”
Be sure to visit Rhylan Lang Bridal at 417 S 12th St. Suite 200A in the Old Market.

Did you know? Park Omaha operates as a self-sustaining fund that generates revenue through parking fees to cover our operational, maintenance and improvement costs without relying on the City of Omaha’s general fund.
Excess revenue is invested in the Parking Enterprise Fund, which supports infrastructure and service improvement projects like the newer Blackstone garage and Mercantile garage. These garages play a major role in increasing off-street parking sessions (up nearly 24% from 2023 to 2024!), which has helped:
🛍️ Attract more patrons to area businesses
🚗 Free-up on-street parking spaces
📉 Reduce traffic congestion and emissions
🔁 Generate more revenue that can be reinvested in Omaha's parking and mobility experience

“We both have worked at salons in the Old Market for over 15 years, so it felt natural for us to purchase this salon in 2019 and turn it into the space you see today,” Sarah shared.
“We like the vibe of the Old Market, none of our clientele is one size fits all, like us,” Kelsey said. “We like to have fun, and I think that radiates through our work.”
