For families facing a financial disruption, timely support can make all the difference.
Through the United Housing Network, families are connected to short-term financial assistance, resource navigation and compassionate case management to help them stay housed, stay stable and stay on track.
So far this year, UHN has helped:
🏠 66 families served through referrals from trusted community partners
💙 43 families receive direct financial assistance through flexible funds
🔑 36 rent payments, 12 utility payments and 2 car-related payments provided to help families avoid eviction, keep utilities connected and maintain employment
Housing stability is often the difference between crisis and calm. When families have the support they need to stay rooted, kids can stay in school, parents can stay connected to work and households can move forward with greater hope for the future.

KPMG is showing what it looks like to create lasting impact through service. 💙
During this year’s KPMG Community Impact Day, 52 volunteers gave nearly 120 hours of their time to support organizations across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro, creating an estimated $4,148.71 in community value.
For five years, KPMG has partnered with many of the same local nonprofits each year, building lasting relationships that make a meaningful difference for our community.
This year, their teams:
🌿 Supported local ecology at Fontenelle Forest
🌳 Cleaned up and beautified Gifford Park with City of Omaha Parks & Recreation
🥫 Helped in the pantry at Together, providing access to food with dignity
⛪ Cleaned Dowd Chapel to help Boys Town stay ready for families and visitors
📦 Helped United Way of the Midlands prepare for our largest Good on the Go to date, supporting four nonprofit partners serving neighbors from youth to seniors
Thank you, KPMG, for continuing to show up with care and a commitment to building a stronger tomorrow.

Scoular kicked off its United Way campaign recently with nearly 80 employees coming together for a Lunch & Learn focused on local needs, community trends and the impact we can make when we work together. A special thank you to Paul Maass, current UWM Board Chair and incoming 2026 Campaign Chair, for closing the event with a powerful message of support and commitment.
The momentum and enthusiasm continued on May 7, when 40 Scoular employees volunteered during a Good on the Go event where they assembled 1,050 snack packs for NeighborGood.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Scoular and share how their continued support helps make positive change possible for families across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro. Thank you Scoular for your leadership and commitment to strengthening our community. 💙

What happens when young people are ready to work, but don’t have a clear path forward?
Our latest white paper, Youth Opportunity: Increasing Career Opportunities for Teens and Young Adults, takes a closer look at a critical moment that shapes long-term success.
Youth ages 16–24 are more than twice as likely to be unemployed, and in our own community, 7% of young people are disconnected from both school and work.
But this story isn’t about barriers. It’s about what’s possible when we connect students to the right support to move forward with clarity and purpose.
Through programs like JAG Nebraska, students are building skills and stepping into meaningful careers, with graduation rates higher than the state average and strong employment outcomes after high school.
When we invest in youth, we strengthen our entire community.
