Autism Action Partnership creates programs to fill critical gaps in Nebraska's autism community.

Gail Werner-Robertson and Scott Robertson, the founders of Autism Action Partnership (AAP), laid the groundwork for Autism Action Partnership in 2000 when they began the GWR Sunshine Foundation. As the parents of two sons diagnosed with autism, they personally experienced the constant challenges and frustrations associated with finding adequate, cost effective treatment services, medical expertise

Dads, uncles, brothers, grandfather and/or other men who have loved ones with autism, join us for the Guys Group Kickoff on June 25!

We're excited to introduce our new Guys Group with an evening at Brazen Head Irish Pub from 6:30–8:30 PM.

Caring for a child or loved one with autism can feel isolating if/when your existing support system isn’t sharing a similar experience. While there seem to be a variety of options for autism parents and/or autism moms to connect, there are very few (if any) options for men to connect. The goal of this social group is to coordinate monthly get-togethers and create a community for members to engage at any level they choose.

Spots are still available! REGISTRATION CLOSES THIS FRIDAY AT 2PM!

‼️PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING‼️
This is a night for people on the autism spectrum and their loved ones who may not get to go to the Zoo other times of the year due to a number of different factors such as sensory differences. Please only sign up if you are part of this community, as it could be taking away the opportunity for another family who only gets to go during these events.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of our recent zoo events—and a high number of no-shows after registration—we’re continuing with registration limits and a small fee to help ensure spots are reserved by those who truly plan to attend. Our goal is to make sure as many families as possible can enjoy this special experience together!

‼️PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING ‼️
Important details:
- $2 per ticket
- Please only register for your family. If you are planning to attend with another family as a group, have them register separately.
- This is an after-hours event — some animals may not be visible due to their natural sleep cycles
- The Splash Pad will remain open if weather permits — if there is lightening detected within a 20-mile radius, all water features will be shut off for safety.
- Concessions will be available
- Wheelchairs/strollers are available for rental

Let’s make it a fun and inclusive night for the autism community!
