MCCB is excited to remind people that Spooking at the Pits will be on Saturday October 3rd this year!

We will have Free Hayrack Rides and Bounce Houses from 4-6:30PM, a Halloween costume contest for children and adults, Campsite Decorating Contest, and of course, Trick or Treating to cap off the night! Campers must still register and pay for sites, but the rest of the event is completely free and open to all members of the public! All park rules will be in effect as normal.

Campers, be sure to bring lots of treats, we normally see 300-400 people at this event. Campers, please do not give away any live animals such as goldfish during this event, many people are not equipped to give proper care for an unexpected live animal, stick to traditional treat options, or something like goldfish crackers in a cup if you want a fun option without involving the hassle of giving out animals.

The normal extra parking spaces at the shelter house and beach will likely fill up quickly, extra parking spaces can be found around the perimeter of the park (off the road) and in the grass along the roads leading into the park as needed, but do not park in campsites that you are not registered too. Participants, please try to reduce the amount of vehicles needing parking spaces for this event by carpooling if possible. Drivers, be aware that we close the roads into and out of the park during the trick or treating (6:30-7:30pm) for the safety of participants, so plan accordingly.

MCCB staff are looking forward to a fun and safe evening this year! Thank you to everyone who comes to this event and makes it such a success!
